This is a WordPress widget to display the latest blog posts. From the functionality point of view, this widget is just like the standard Recent Posts widget, but with additional functionality: a sharing button to Facebook or Twitter. This button is rendered before the post link, and by default it is configured to show the counter of how many time a particular post is shared in Facebook or Twitter. The presence of this button should entice your readers to share an interesting post in a social media website like Facebook and Twitter.
The ‘sharing’ button is configurable in widget administration screen: you can choose either Facebook or Twitter, but not both. The Facebook sharing button is an official button from Facebook API. The Twitter ‘retweet’ button is taken from Tweetmeme Retweet Button. Either one is small enough to fit into the limited area in latest posts list.

Widget Parameters
This section explains the parameters used by this widget.
- Num. of posts to display
You can specify the number of posts to display in this widget. Default value is 5 posts.
- Twitter username
Optional. If you choose Twitter as social media button, you can specify the Twitter username as the source of retweet. The Twitter username will be included in the retweet text. For example, if I put ‘ahanto’ as username, and the message is ‘Latest Posts with Share Widget for WordPress’, then the retweet text will become: RT @ahanto Latest Posts Share Widget for WordPress.
- Bit.ly username
Optional, but recommended. This option is applicable only if you choose Twitter as social media button. Bit.ly is a URL shortening service. We can shorten long URL in a tweet using their service. We can use their service by providing username and API key that can be obtained from their website.
- Bit.ly API key
Optional, only required if we use Twitter as social media button. This is the API key of the bit.ly service as I mentioned above.
- Show in home
By default the Latest Posts with Share widget is not displayed in homepage. But, you can choose to display it in homepage by turning this option on.
- Use custom style
By default, Latest Posts with Share widget uses its own style.css file. You can check this checkbox to ignore this file and use the CSS from your theme. Some additions to your theme’ style.css are required of course.
- Link to us (optional)
If this checkbox is checked, a link to this page address will be displayed at the bottom of the widget.

Nice plugin. How can I remove the timestamp after the blog title?
Thanks!
The option is not available for now, I could easily add the option but not for current version.
Also, how can I remove the number of retweets before the button?
For now, the option is not available, although tweetmeme retweet button provide it. I’ll consider as refinement for next version.
i want to know how to remove the tweet share button as i simply want the text heading of the post
I think you can use standard recent post widget that is bundled with WordPress installation.
Can you take a look at my site (its a test site) at http://www.carmetscientific.com/test/carmet and let me know why the retweet or facebook buttons won’t show up. It just gives a test link that sais share and it is hard to see. I am under a lot of pressure to get this website up so your response will be soooo appreciated. Thank you very much

Sorry Joey, It’s been very long since you wrote the comment and I’m just able to answer it now.
I tried to look your website and I didn’t see any widget related with this plugin. I guess you already deleted it.
